eBeam
mouse
eBeam
mouse allows you to use an eBeam sleeve to control
the mouse cursor when you have a PC attached to a
projection display. The eBeam mouse insert is really
just a piece of plastic shaped like a marker pen but
with no ink. It converts an eBeam marker sleeve into
a mouse pointer.
After
a simple calibration process, an eBeam sleeve can
point, click, drag and drop and otherwise control
many of the operations of Windows directly from the
whiteboard. You don't have to constantly go back and
forth between board and PC or have a second person
drive the PC.
eBeam
mouse software can calibrate and work with projected
images that are skewed or "keystoned" due to a poor
projection angle. In other words, the projected image
doesn't have to be a perfect rectangle for the eBeam
mouse software to operate properly.
If
you are having difficulties with eBeam mouse, please
read the following:
Is
the eBeam application running?
The eBeam mouse application won't run if the eBeam
application is running. Only one eBeam application
can take control of the eBeam hardware. If you want
to run eBeam mouse, simply close the eBeam application
first.
Is
eBeam mouse activated?
To determine if the eBeam mouse application is running,
look at the System Tray in the lower right corner
of the status bar.
If
the eBeam mouse application is running and activated,
the eBeam mouse icon will be displayed. If
the eBeam mouse icon is not in the System Tray,
the eBeam mouse application is not running.
Did
you calibrate eBeam mouse?
After you launch the eBeam mouse application, you
need to perform a multipoint calibration. The calibration
identifies to the eBeam mouse application the angle
and dimensions of the projector to the whiteboard.
By doing this, the projected image doesn't have
to be a perfect rectangle for the eBeam mouse software
to operate properly. Please refer to the eBeam mouse
Help section for procedures to calibrate your eBeam
mouse.
Did
you move the projector after calibrating eBeam mouse?
If you bump or move the projector, the calibration
will not be accurate and results will not be what
you expect. Please perform the calibration again.
Are
you using eBeam mouse with a pull down screen?
eBeam mouse expects a rigid projection surface (i.e.,
a whiteboard). A flexible projection will not allow
accurate registration of the calibration points
and results will be unreliable. If you do not have
a whiteboard, you can project on a wall. The eBeam
mouse insert is a piece of plastic shaped like a
marker pen but with no ink so you have no fear of
accidentally writing on the wall.
How
do I "right mouse" click when I'm using
eBeam mouse and a projector?
Simply
touch the eBeam mouse (eBeam sleeve with digital
stylus insert) to the board and hold in one place
without moving for over 1 second, then pull the
eBeam mouse away from the board.
A
right-click menu should appear.
