Listed below are problems and sample symptoms. Please select the problem that most closely resembles what you are experiencing.

Installation or Communications problems

If

  • the PC hangs during installation,
  • the software installation fails
  • the installation fails to detect eBeam,
  • the eBeam hardware isn't detected when the eBeam application launches

you may have a software, Windows or COM port conflict. If you are experiencing the symptoms above, select this diagnostic sequence.

ThinkPad Select this diagnostic sequence if you are experiencing problems communicating with the eBeam hardware on a ThinkPad.  
PalmPilot  Select this diagnostic sequence if you are use a PalmPilot and are experiencing communication problems with eBeam.
Software problems  If
  • data written or erased doesn't appear correctly,
  • the Send feature in the eBeam application is inaccessible,
  • the Shortcut strip commands don't work,
  • the eBeam mouse functions incorrectly, or
  • you experience problems hosting, joining or other data conferencing problems,

select this diagnostic sequence.

The eBeam hardware (pods, sleeve, or eraser) is not working properly

If

  • the drawn data is "broken up", captured intermittently, or not captured at all,
  • marker strokes do not appear in the eBeam window,
  • marker strokes at the bottom of the whiteboard do not appear,
  • the shortcut strip commands don't work,
  • the eraser doesn't erase, or
  • Calibration fails
