To
ensure the best possible performance from your eBeam hardware
over time, there are a number of routine maintenance steps
you should complete periodically. These steps include:
Battery
Replacement
Batteries need to be replaced periodically. Use new
coin cell batteries (size CR2032), inserted with the
plus (+) side up.
If you place a battery in a sleeve or eraser backwards
and try to use the eraser or sleeve, no signal will
be sent to the hardware, and your drawing or erasing
will not be recorded by the eBeam application.
To
replace a battery in an eBeam sleeve:
|
|
- Unscrew
the end cap on one of the eBeam sleeves by
turning it counterclockwise.
- Remove
the two batteries and insert two new coin
batteries with the plus (+) side up.
- Screw
the cap back on clockwise.
|
To
replace a battery in the eBeam eraser:
|
|
-
Remove
the battery cover of the eBeam eraser by
twisting a coin counterclockwise in the
slot.
-
Drop
in two coin batteries, plus (+) side up.
-
Screw
the cover back on.
|
Note:
Your sleeve and eraser only draw power when you are
writing or erasing on the whiteboard, so there is
no need to remove the battery between uses.

Marker
Replacement
Eventually
your EXPO markers
will dry up or run out of ink. When this happens you
must replace the markers. Note You can greatly extend
the life of your markers by making sure you cap your
eBeam sleeve between uses.
To
replace a marker:
|
-
Press
the ridged release button on the side of
one of the marker sleeves to open the marker
compartment.
-
Remove
the cap from the Sanford EXPO Dry Erase
marker with the same color as the color
ring on the sleeve, and slip the marker
into the sleeve.
Please note, that eBeam detects the color
of the sleeve, not the color of the
marker in the sleeve. Normal pressure on
the marker while writing on the board sends
a "writing" signal in that color.
-
Close the marker compartment.
|
The
eBeam sleeves were designed for use with EXPO markers.
If you use a marker other than EXPO that does not
fit properly in the sleeve case, it is possible to
damage the sleeve. It is also possible to wedge the
marker so that the sleeve continuously transmits thereby
interfering with the other sleeves or eraser. If this
happens, written/erased data may not be captured correctly.

Cleaning/Replacing
the Eraser Pad
The
eBeam eraser has electronic components and cannot
be cleaned by rinsing it under water. When your eraser
pad becomes dirty or worn, you can replace it. For
information on ordering replacement eraser pads, please
contact Customer
Service or visit our online
store.
To
replace the eraser pad:
- Firmly
hold the eraser in your hand with the pad facing
up.
- Grasp
the the edge of the eraser pad and pull up, removing
the eraser pad.
- Place
the replacement pad on the adhesive.
- Gently
press the pad down to adhere it to the plastic.

Storing
eBeam Hardware
The eBeam pods, sleeves, and eraser contain electronic
components which can be damaged if they are not stored
properly.
When
you are finished using eBeam, be sure to:
- Store
sleeves, the eraser and the pods in a cool dry place
(for example, not exposed to sunlight in a parked
car). Excessive heat
or humidity can damage eBeam hardware.
- Store
the sleeves and the eraser in a location where they
will not be knocked to the floor (for example, in
a cabinet in a conference room instead of on the
marker tray of the whiteboard).
- Cap
your eBeam sleeves to stop your EXPO
markers from drying out.
