EFI Announces Partnership with Boone International for eBeam Internet Appliance

Boone to Market, Distribute and Support the Revolutionary eBeam System to Key Customers in the Office Products Channel

Foster City, Calif. - January 4, 2001 - Electronics For Imaging, Inc. (EFI) (NASDAQ: EFII), the world leader in enabling networked printing solutions, today announced a new strategic OEM partnership with Boone International, Inc. – a wholly owned subsidiary of ACCO World Corporation and one of the nation’s largest suppliers of communication and organization products. As a result of this agreement, Boone is supplying the eBeam Internet office appliance to key customers in the Office Products channel such as Office Depot, United Stationers and Azerty. The eBeam system captures meeting notes and diagrams as they are created on existing whiteboards and broadcasts them over the Internet or corporate intranet in real time. Boone will market, sell and support the eBeam product through its own Commercial and Retail Office Products customers.

The eBeam system, EFI's internet office appliance, joins a growing list of Boone International product offerings such as communication bulletin and dry-erase boards, chalk boards, easels, and dry-erase markers and accessories designed for home, home office, and commercial use.

"The eBeam system extends the capabilities of the traditional whiteboard to the Internet. Teleconference participants can view information drawn on the standard conference room whiteboard through any web browser. Plus, the notes can be emailed or posted on a web page for people to view later," says Rafi Holtzman, eBeam General Manager, EFI. "We are leveraging Boone's market expertise and the power of their distribution channels to aid us in creating products for the 'digital office' that enhance communications and collaboration for the office, education and presentation markets."

"The addition of eBeam to our product roster will provide our key customers with a leading-edge product that addresses the traditional copy board market," says Bruce Kahn, Vice President for Boone International. "We are very excited to partner with EFI to support our customers with technologically superior products and expand our traditional product offering into the digital space."

Adds Brett Moody, Boone's Vice President of Sales and Marketing, "Boone has always been known for its understanding of consumer needs and ability to satisfy those needs. This is another way for us to meet a market-driven consumer need and further support our channel partners."

About eBeam
The eBeam Internet office appliance, the most portable solution on the market, works with existing whiteboards and other writing surfaces to capture meeting notes and diagrams as they are created. Information is viewed, saved, edited, shared, and printed using any Windows PC. Unlike traditional electronic whiteboards and copyboards, the eBeam marker system is portable, easy to install, and Web-enabled. The palm-sized unit -- consisting of two small pods, a pen sleeve, a standard dry-erase pen, and an eraser -- can be carried in a laptop case and installed in less than five minutes.
